From the Diary Of

Sunday Ojolo

I was born into a polygamous family of twenty-eight children; I am the twentieth child. I was trained by my mum to the university level. Each stage of my life has been enhanced with favour. For example; the official age of starting the elementary school was 6 years, I started by 5 years. My mum was not literate, but I have opportunity of learning from family friends and relations.

I wanted to study Medicine; but I discovered that I was very good in Mathematics. During my Advanced Level programme, I changed to study Engineering. My PhD study was to be for 5 years; I completed it in 3 years and some months.

I should have been deterred by my background, but I used every obstacle as a stepping stone to success.
